Its official, I’m deploying.

I’m back in D.C. now. Talked to the boss this afternoon, and its official, I’m finally deploying. This weekend! I’m packing up the apartment and getting everything ready to go. I can’t believe that within a week I’ll being seeing Curtis. OMG!

Unfortunately during all this packing and excitement over seeing Curtis, I remain pretty sick. While I love winter, the whole coughy, runny nose thing just sucks.

That being said I am so ready to go. I have said goodbye to my family and friends. And I’m ready to rock n roll it to Iraq.

Julia– I’m happy that you will get to see and be with Curtis. I wish you a safe deployment and will pray that the Lord wraps his arms around you both, keeps you safe and brings you home to the people who love you. I am so very proud of both of you. Say hello to Curtis for me.

You have to promise to take care of yourself and the C-Man for me – I want to see you both here in Oz on your mid-tour leave, right??

Seriously, let me know when you have an address so I can send you a care package. I’m glad good people like you and Curtis are fighting the good fight – wish I could be out there with ya.

Be good, stay safe & have some pecan pie in the dfac for me!

Remember to send my a mailing address so I can send you and Curtis some care packages. I too toy with the idea of returing to Iraq. Then I sober up. Anyway be well.
